Cat Sitting
Sometimes it's just not practical or it's too traumatic to put your cat in a cattery and you would rather they stayed in an environment they were most comfortable with. Having someone reliable to come to your home and give them the same care and attention they get from you would certainly be the preferable option.
As a former cat owner (having non cat safe greyhounds unfortunately means I can't own a cat now!), I am experienced in meeting all a cats needs. I also can look after other animals eg rabbits, guinea pigs etc. Recently I have looked after 12 rabbits for the weekend, so quantity isn't a problem!
The half hour service will include:-
- Feeding and watering
- Playtime and/or cuddles
- Cleaning litter tray
- Various "safe home" tasks if required (draw curtains, put lamps on, remove post etc) within reason
Other animals
I'm happy to look after any animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, frogs (yes I have been asked!) etc and also bigger ones such as horses, goats or donkeys. I do ride and I am more than happy to muck out, bring horse in for the night, groom or even ride if you require.

About me
My passion for animals stretches back as far as I remember when, as a child, we got our first cat and hamster in '84. Years of walking and caring for next door's german shepherd and various guinea pigs and rabbits instilled in me a love of animals that made me realise that 'when I grew up' I was destined to have dogs. Unfortunately work commitments made that impossible and I had to be content with dogsitting for others, until eventually I was able to become home based and we adopted 2 beautiful retired greyhounds, Gordon and Lea.
Ally's Ark was born after I realised how much I didn't miss the rat race and was perfectly happy surrounded by my furry friends (and occasionally my husband!) doing what I enjoyed most - walking and the company of animals. I wanted to become to others, the kind of person that I would trust with my beloved dogs and believe me I know how hard it is to trust someone, not only to ensure their safety, but also to give them the love and attention they get at home.
The idea of offering a cat sitting service came from a neighbour who was going away for just one night and didn't want to uproot her cat to the cattery and would I just nip in and feed him, give him some cuddles and clean the litter tray? Of course I did and realising she probably wasn't alone I decided to add it in as a service. I will go to your house, feed and play with your cat and even draw the curtains, remove any post from the letterbox to make the house more secure whilst you are away.
